PICA 2009

It's that time of the Semester again when exams dominate my life and force me to neglect my little blog. I got the main one out of the way today though, so I'm taking a few minutes to post about the Car Boot Sale by PICA last Sunday 8th November.

 

It was a lot quieter than the first one back in 2007, as my friends who were selling there confirmed. Which is unfortunate for all the artists but I guess it makes me feel better for not being the only cheapskate there (hey, I'm a poor student).

I spent a grand total of $2.50 on a poetry zine by Elizabeth Lewis (though I wanted to buy the whole table of zines!!). There's a few gems in there - it's a great little read.

 

Some girls were doing a sort of installation art thing where they moved in trippy ways to the trance-like music, together with facepaint and zoned-out expressions.

 

They were giving out an endless supply of popcorn for the littlies, which I thought was a great and cheap way to keep the kiddos busy.

 

All in all, the general consensus was that it didn't live up to 2007 but it was still a welcome break from my study!

A Moody Character.

I love the different characteristics of our little home. It is so charming and cute during the day but the old light fittings and pressed tin roof can make for some spooky shots come nightfall.

I took this photo last night after coming home from seeing The Boys Are Back at the movies (we had free tickets - hurrah). For some reason watching films often awakens my photographic bug (I think it must be the cinematography that does it!).

New Item!

Well, it's a miracle, but I somehow found the time during this last hectic week to create a new item for my etsy shop.

I'm bringing back my wooden pencil boxes - only this time they are bigger and with 12 coloured pencils. I just loved the sliding lid and peeking window the moment I saw them and thought they had such charm that I couldn't resist decorating them with Tea For Bini style.
